Recycling Collection

The City of Wilton Manors has a single-stream recycling system, which means you can place all of your recyclables together in the same green roll-out cart, without sorting. The following video explains How Single-Stream Recycling Works. Each resident is provided with one green recycling cart.  Additional carts are available for a small monthly fee and may be obtained by contacting City Hall Utility Billing at 954-390-2145 to schedule a delivery and have this added to your utility bill.

These Recycling Rules and Guidelines describe DO's and DON'Ts for acceptable items as well as the best practices for responsible recycling. Never place trash or hazardous waste in your green recycling cart, as unacceptable items mixed with recyclables contaminate the collection and recycling process, which is counter-productive to your recycling efforts.  "When In Doubt, Throw It Out!" Also, check out a really helpful YouTube animated video called "How does a Material Recovery Facility (MRF, sounds like MURF) work?" for an easy-to-understand explanation of how our recyclables are sorted.

Recycling Collection Schedule

For our residential customers, recyclables are collected once a week - with Christmas Day being the only day of the year that recyclables are not collected.

You must have your recycling cart streetside and ready for pickup by 7 a.m. on your collection day.  Please call 954-390-2190 if your recyclables have not been picked up by 5 p.m. on your collection day.  Please refer to the 2026 Collection Schedule with Instructions for additional details.

Recycling Drop-off Center

The City has a drop-off center for recyclables located at the southeast corner of NE 24th Street and NE 12th Avenue, just west of the railroad tracks. Since the drop-off center is located in a well-lit, open area, you can easily drop-off your recyclables whenever it is convenient. The drop-off center consists of several marked containers in a well-lit, camera monitored lot with 24 hour access. The Recycling Rules and Guidelines for your drop-off items are the same as for curb-side pick up.

Please follow all Recycling Rules and Guidelines when depositing your items into these containers...and also be aware that trash, hazardous waste and bulk items should never be taken to the Recycling Drop-off Center.

Items that may be dropped off are:

  • Aluminum, steel or tin cans (rinsed)
  • Paper, newspapers, magazines and catalogs (no grease, oils or food residue, NO pizza boxes)
  • Glass bottles/jars (clear, brown or green colors) (rinsed)
  • Corrugated cardboard, cereal boxes, tissue boxes (flattened with no grease, oil or food residue - NO pizza boxes)
  • Plastic containers with the neck smaller than the body (rinsed)
  • Gable-top containers (such as milk and juice cartons) (rinsed)
  • Children’s drink boxes (rinsed)
DO NOT dispose of garbage, bulk trash or hazardous waste at the drop-off location.
